Custom Bed Lever to Support Safe Transfers
Richard has severe Parkinson’s disease and was struggling to get in and out of his upstairs bed. His double sprung divan bed meant that standard bed levers and rails could not be fitted safely.
REMAP volunteers designed and made a bespoke hand grip to suit Richard’s reach and grip strength. The grip was securely mounted to the bed frame at the correct position to provide a stable support point when transferring in and out of bed, with added padding for comfort.
The simple, tailored solution has made bed transfers safer and easier, helping Richard maintain independence and confidence in his own home.
